Observability of quantum state of black hole

چکیده
We analyze terms subleading to Rutherford in the S-matrix between black hole and probes of successively high energies. We show that by an appropriate choice of the probe one can read off the quantum state of the black hole from the S-matrix, staying asymptotically far from the BH all the time. We interpret the scattering experiment as scattering off classical stringy backgrounds which explicitly depend on the internal quantum numbers of the black hole. ∗ e-mail: justin, adhar, mandal, [email protected] † On leave from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India.

On the Observability of Quantum Information Radiated from a Black Hole
We propose a resolution to the black-hole information-loss paradox: in one formulation of physical theory, information is preserved and macroscopic causality is violated; in another, causality is preserved and pure states evolve to mixed states. However, no experiments can be performed that would distinguish these two descriptions. We explain how this could work in practice; a key ingredient is...
متن کاملSpectroscopy of a canonically quantized horizon
Deviations from Hawking’s thermal black hole spectrum, observable for macroscopic black holes, are derived from a model of a quantum horizon in loop quantum gravity. These arise from additional area eigenstates present in quantum surfaces excluded by the classical isolated horizon boundary conditions. The complete spectrum of area unexpectedly exhibits evenly spaced symmetry. This leads to an e...
متن کاملUnitarity of black hole evaporation in final-state projection models
Almheiri et al. have emphasized that otherwise reasonable beliefs about black hole evaporation are incompatible with the monogamy of quantum entanglement, a general property of quantum mechanics. We investigate the final-state projection model of black hole evaporation proposed by Horowitz and Maldacena, pointing out that this model admits cloning of quantum states and polygamous entanglement, ...
متن کاملQuantum Black Holes:Unexpected Results
The quantum black hole model with a self-gravitating spherically symmetric thin dust shell as a source is considered. The shell Hamiltonian constraint is written and the corresponding Schroedinger equation is obtained. This equation appeared to be a finite differences equation. Its solutions are required to be analytic functions on the relevant Riemannian surface. The method of finding discrete...
متن کاملBlack holes as bosonic Gaussian channels
We identify the quantum channels corresponding to the interaction of a Gaussian quantum state with an already formed Schwarzschild black hole. Using recent advances in the classification of one-mode bosonic Gaussian channels, we find that (with one exception) the black hole Gaussian channels lie in the nonentanglement breaking subset of the lossy channels CðlossÞ, amplifying channels CðampÞ and...
